Scotticism

Scotticism \Scot"ti*cism\, n.
   An idiom, or mode of expression, peculiar to Scotland or
   Scotchmen.

         That, in short, in which the Scotticism of Scotsmen
         most intimately consists, is the habit of emphasis.
