Thermotype

Thermotype \Ther"mo*type\, n. [Thermo- + -type.]
   A picture (as of a slice of wood) obtained by first wetting
   the object slightly with hydrochloric or dilute sulphuric
   acid, then taking an impression with a press, and next
   strongly heating this impression.
