   1. Possessing or displaying splendor; shining; very bright;
      as, a splendid sun.

   2. Showy; magnificent; sumptuous; pompous; as, a splendid
      palace; a splendid procession or pageant.

   3. Illustrious; heroic; brilliant; celebrated; famous; as, a
      splendid victory or reputation.
